It was an amazing honor having Holy Smoke Vegas's Shauna McQueen and Arthur “Doc” McClenaghan on the show to express how they got to the place they are in life and how they truly inspire others!
Arthur “Doc” McClenaghan and Shawna McQueen reach out to a community of people who live underground in the tunnels of Las Vegas. Under the glare of the neon lights of the Strip, an estimated 1,000 people have created homes in the sewer tunnels under the streets and sidewalks of glittering resorts. Along with the pitch darkness, when it rains, flash floods occur reaching heights of 10 to 20 feet wiping out makeshift camps and, tragically, drowning those who don’t reach safety in time.
Known for “cannabis, comedy, and charity,” Doc performs motivational standup comedy. In 2018, he created Holy Smoke Misfit Missionaries as a nonprofit out of their desire to help alleviate homelessness after informally volunteering for years.
Holy Smoke is a homeless outreach with a Vegas flair. Among our volunteers are comedians and other community advocates. Our mission is to help by providing life skills training and outreach services. Our teams specialize in assisting those who live in the maze of tunnels beneath Las Vegas’ streets.
Holy Smoke has been featured in magazines and news stories locally and internationally.
Holy Smoke’s mission is to radically reduce the homeless epidemic through lobbying and creating a professional series, to raise awareness and educate the public, using entertainment to help ease heartache.
