Halloween stems from a pagan holiday called Samhain, a day where unbelievers gathered together to summon the "Otherworld". During this celebration, pagans would offer up human sacrifices to their gods and drink the blood of babies. Many of the activities we partake in on Halloween -- such as pumpkin carvings, costumes, trick-or-treating -- are all emulations of how these pagans celebrated in the past. As Christians, we should not be copying these dark, ancient traditions. We should not be celebrating a holiday of darkness.
