With special guest Michael La Rose from New Beacon Books.

Michael La Rose was born in Trinidad and migrated to London in the early 1960s.Michael is director of New Beacon Books a cultural and political activist and also an author, researcher and lecturer on popular culture of the African diaspora. He was involved in politics as a young person in the supplementary school movement and the campaigns of the Black Youth Movement, Black Parents Movement and The Alliance. He was part of the organising committee of the International Book Fair of Radical Black and Third World Books in the 1980s and was the second ever Chair of the George Padmore Institute (GPI) archive between 2006 and 2016. Michael was band leader and masquerade designer of the Peoples War Carnival Band 1982 -1998. In the late 1970s he was elected vice-chairperson of the Carnival Development Committee (CDC) and later in the mid 1980s founded the campaigning Association for a Peoples Carnival (APC) and in 2017 Reclaim Our Carnival (ROC). He is currently director of Savannah View, a cultural and educational promotion group.
