The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition wishes to inform the public that the Dr. Betty Wells Urban Polyclinic was temporarily closed to facilitate an environmental health intervention following the identification of bed bugs within sections of the facility.
The Environmental Health Division with the Vector Control Team, has commenced a comprehensive assessment and treatment exercise to determine the extent of bed bug activity and implement the necessary control measures. The intervention includes detailed inspections, continuous monitoring, and targeted treatment of affected areas to ensure the safety and comfort of both staff and patients. The Ministry remains committed to maintaining safe and hygienic healthcare environments and will continue to provide updates as necessary.
