The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs is proud to join the global community in observing World No Alcohol Day on October 02, 2024. This day, recognized by the World Health Organization, aims to raise awareness about the negative health impacts of alcohol consumption, particularly its misuse and abuse, while promoting healthier habits for individuals and communities alike.
In Saint Lucia, alcohol consumption is a widespread cultural practice, often introduced at a young age and continuing through various life stages. Unfortunately, this leads to significant health and social challenges.
