In observance of World Obesity Day and World Kidney Day, the Gros-Islet Primary School engaged residents of Gros-Islet by walking throughout the village carrying colorful placards with messages about making healthier lifestyle choices. This activity provided students and teachers with the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition, physical activity and the preventive health practices to reduce the risk of obesity and kidney disease. A health fair was also held on the school grounds where students received talks on healthy eating, protecting kidney health and information on the abuse of alcohol and substances.
