The Ministry of Health, Wellness & Elderly Affairs is intensifying its efforts to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses in Saint Lucia as the island navigates its annual flu season, which spans from October to March. This period, coinciding with peak visitor arrivals and colder climates in the northern hemisphere has historically been associated with a surge in respiratory illnesses, including influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID-19.
The Ministry continues its commitment to monitoring local and international trends in respiratory illnesses and providing regular updates. Saint Lucians are encouraged to seek medical attention promptly at Wellness Centers, Polyclinics, or private physicians if symptoms arise.
