The Department of Equity, Social Justice, Gender and Older Persons is strengthening its support for initiatives that empower older persons and create meaningful opportunities for them to remain active, visible and engaged while aging.

Permanent Secretary Esther Rigobert recently met with contestants of the HelpAge 50 Plus Pageant at HelpAge Saint Lucia in La Clery, as preparations intensify for the event, which takes place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Cultural Centre.

The pageant will provide a platform for older persons to showcase their talents, confidence, creativity and abilities, while promoting greater recognition of their continued contribution to families, communities and national development.
