Saint Lucia strengthens health systems in light of Mpox threat

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs continues to play a pivotal role in coordinating and executing a comprehensive preparedness plan aimed at enhancing the country's ability to detect, manage, and respond to potential cases of Mpox. This ongoing effort underscores the importance of strengthened surveillance at all levels, ensuring that any cases entering Saint Lucia can be identified swiftly and managed effectively.

To achieve this, the Ministry has initiated a series of sensitization presentations and discussions across various sectors, including the medical fraternity, Saint Lucia Air and Sea Port Authority, the tourism industry, and the education sector. These sessions are designed to raise awareness and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to respond promptly to any potential threats.
