The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition is on a mission to eliminate leprosy by 2030 in country. This goal is pursued through the continuation of community-based skin health camps, which focus on ensuring early detection, treatment, and raising awareness about the disease and other skin diseases. Since the inception of the first skin health camp in Anse La Raye, significant strides have been made in combating leprosy. The Ministry of Health has since intensified its efforts by expanding services to other communities, that is Vieux-Fort and Micoud.
