Ruth Nolan, a former wildfire fighter, and now an author and college professor, called in to discuss all of her projects, including her two latest ones, "Fire on the Mojave", and her memoir on wildfires.

Ruth Nolan is a Mojave Desert author and college professor living in Palm Springs, California. She is the author of "Ruby Mountain" (Finishing Line Press) and editor of the critically-acclaimed books "No Place for a Puritan: the Literature of California's Deserts" (Heyday Books); "Fire and Rain: Eco-Poetry of California" (Scarlet Tanager) Her short story "Palimpsest" was published in "LA Fiction Anthology:Southland Stories by Southland Writers" (Red Hen Press).
She writes about life in the California Deserts for KCET Los Angeles and Desert Magazine/USA Today. She teaches creative writing, desert literature and American Indian literature at College of the Desert. She holds her M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Writing from the Performing Arts from University of California, Riverside.
