There are two types of expectations... Shared agreements made between people, like exchanging vows on your wedding day or signing a contract - you understand you have a responsibility and you expect something in return from the other person(s) involved.
And then there are implied expectations... For example, a mother expects her grown child to come home for the holidays or a waitress expects to be tipped well for good service - this is more of an unspoken assumption that was never actually "agreed" upon by everyone involved. This type of expectation is yours alone and it’s simply not fair to hold others to it, even when you’re left disappointed.
In this episode, Dr. Keesha and Regan Claire talk about how our expectations play a huge role in our disappointment and the importance of not letting it stop you in your tracks - but to take your experiences and gain the wisdom you need to go from disappointment intolerance to tolerance of disappointment.

Liberating Generations
You can inherit not only your Mother’s eyes, Father’s smile and Grandfather’s hairline; you also unwittingly inherited the generational trauma that runs through your family lineage. Unresolved trauma is often the missing piece of the puzzle in any chronic illness (autoimmunity and cancer included), addiction, relationship unhappiness, and even financial stress. Intergenerational trauma influences your genetic expression, gut microbiome, self-sabotaging behaviors, perceptions of unworthiness, emotional reactivity and the way you perceive yourself, your world, and everyone in it.
Liberating Generations is a podcast hosted by Mother-Daughter duo Dr. Keesha Ewers and Regan Claire that provides a forum for health experts from a wide variety of backgrounds from science to spirituality and philosophy to psychology to provide tools and tips you can use to free yourself and the generations before and after you from patterns that keep you stuck. If you are ready for straight talk that helps you and your loved ones live fuller lives filled with mission and purpose free of addiction and disease- we invite you to tune in!
