In selling our family home of 15 years, the notion of decluttering in order to move was full of stress, exacerbated by not knowing where we would set up house next or what kind of lifestyle that might be. The key to surviving the ordeal was in simplifying current and future expected needs in order to organize the ‘stuff’ to keep and let go of the rest. This meant detaching from items holding memories, a simultaneously painful and enriching task. Do you know what I mean?
