Building A Healthier Community: Lake Country Community Health Fair

Every community has defining moments—times when people come together with a shared purpose to make life better for everyone who calls that place home.

Today’s episode is about one of those moments.

On March 28th, something new is coming to Lake Country: the Lake Country Community Health Fair at Lake Oconee Academy. It’s designed to bring together healthcare providers, wellness experts, community organizations, and residents from across Greensboro, Eatonton, Madison, and beyond—all under one roof with a simple but powerful goal: helping people live healthier lives.

My guests today are two familiar voices on the show—Dr. Nick Chronos and Tom Hanscom. Both have spent years working to strengthen our community in different ways, and now they’re teaming up to launch what they hope will become an annual tradition focused on health, education, and access to care. Plus, a new voice, that of intern Baylor Edge.

This isn’t just a walk-through expo. It’s a hands-on opportunity for people to receive free health screenings, meet local healthcare professionals, learn about wellness resources, and ask questions that might otherwise go unanswered.

In a region that continues to grow and welcome both new retirees and new families every year, events like this play an important role in making sure our community stays informed, connected, and proactive about health.
