There are some people whose larger than life presence fills up a room! My guest today is one of those people. Chris Patrick is a homegrown “Georgia Boy” who found his way from an humble upbringing, with excellent work ethics, to the upper echelons of drag racing!
You are in for a special treat today! From the first time I met Chris, I knew he had to be on the podcast to tell his interesting life story, in a way only he can tell. You'll enjoy his storytelling style and down home genuineness.
You will learn a lot about the world of drag racing, and that it is not a sport for the faint of heart! If you like driving fast, you will love hearing what it feels like to accelerate from 0 to over 200 miles per hour in around three seconds! Chris tells us what it feels like, what you think about and some of the things that can, and sooner or later will, go wrong.
Racing has taken Chris all over the world, and he gives us some insight on his favorite, and not so favorite places he has raced. And he will tell us the fun story of what lured him to the lake and built his own house. And I mean that literally! He actually built his house with timber from his own land! And you know there are some good stories along the way.
Chris will also tell us about what keeps him busy these days, including collecting classic cars and boats.

Lure of the Lake
Lake Oconee, Georgia, located halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, is a man-made paradise with incredible beauty that makes it a great vacation destination for people of all ages. More than that, though, it's a community for those that are looking for a peaceful life filled with nature and beauty.
I, myself, am a member of that community. I moved to Reynolds in 2020 and started to hear the incredible stories of its residents. Join me, now, as we take a plunge into some fascinating stories of the many well-lived lives of our community and learn why they were Lured to the Lake.
