Welcome to today’s show! I’m excited about my guest today and you are about to find out why! Dr. Barry Zisholtz, or Dr. Z, as everyone calls him, has led an interesting life! You’ll quickly recognize by his accent that he isn’t from Georgia, but from New York, though he has made Georgia his home for a very long time.
Dr. Z is a medical doctor specializing in urology surgery. He spent 36 years curing disease and helping his patients relieve pain and suffering. His values and mission have always been to make the world better by taking care of one person at a time.
He retired at the end of last year, after primarily working in Riverdale & East Point. What he thought would be spending most of his time traveling and visiting his kids and grandkids, changed a few weeks ago when a group of concerned citizens in his House District in Dekalb County, asked him to run for the State House in District 86, as the Republican candidate!
We’ll talk about all the reasons for that in the podcast, which I know will peak your interest. We’ll discuss his stance on a number of issues that impact, not just his District or even just Georgia, but the entire country.
And, of course, we’ll talk about what attracted Dr. Z and his wife Mitzi, to have a second home here at the lake.

Lure of the Lake
Lake Oconee, Georgia, located halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, is a man-made paradise with incredible beauty that makes it a great vacation destination for people of all ages. More than that, though, it's a community for those that are looking for a peaceful life filled with nature and beauty.
I, myself, am a member of that community. I moved to Reynolds in 2020 and started to hear the incredible stories of its residents. Join me, now, as we take a plunge into some fascinating stories of the many well-lived lives of our community and learn why they were Lured to the Lake.
