I have not one, but two, very special guests today on the show! Linda Moore & Amy McElhenney are here in the studio and we are going to talk about banking. And not just any bank, but Farmers & Merchants Bank, with an amazing history in our community, for over 100 years!
Amy and Linda have been in banking and specifically with Farmers and Merchants Bank for many years, just not 100 years, at least not yet! Both are Vice President’s of the bank and both are wonderful, dedicated supporters of the community and special friends of mine!
We’ll talk about their early years and what led them into a career in banking. We’ll discuss the banking industry in general, focusing on the many changes over the years, particularly in the evolution of technology.
We’ll talk about their bank and some of the things that set them apart, being a long tenured community bank in comparison with regional and national banks and how community banks have such a special connection with the communities they serve. We’ll talk about how the pandemic impacted (or didn’t impact) their operations due to great leadership and preparation. We’ll even talk about how a bank that knows their customers so well can help keep them safer.
Then we’ll spend some time getting to know them a little better by asking them some fun, personal questions. You will really enjoy learning more about Farmers & Merchants Bank and about these special ladies.

Lure of the Lake
Lake Oconee, Georgia, located halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, is a man-made paradise with incredible beauty that makes it a great vacation destination for people of all ages. More than that, though, it's a community for those that are looking for a peaceful life filled with nature and beauty.
I, myself, am a member of that community. I moved to Reynolds in 2020 and started to hear the incredible stories of its residents. Join me, now, as we take a plunge into some fascinating stories of the many well-lived lives of our community and learn why they were Lured to the Lake.
