"Inspired By Heritage, Driven By Purpose: Marcella Joseph's Medical Journey"

A few weeks ago, two young medical students from the Rural Health Initiative joined me on the podcast. They were both impressive young men and if you missed that show, be sure to go back and listen.
If you’re like me, you love to hear from these impressive young people who are the future of medicine for all of us!
To that end, I’m joined today by a very impressive young lady, Marcella Joseph, who not only has been a major contributor to the Rural Health Project, but is on her way to becoming a PA! You will love her story, what influenced her to pursue a medical career, and the impact working at Lake Country Medical with Dr. Chronos has had on her career plans.
She will talk about her Haitian heritage, as her parents both immigrated from Haiti, and the strong influence they have had on her life. If we’re lucky, she may even speak a bit of Creole for us!
Marcella has studied abroad, attending training in Thailand, South Africa and France. She will tell us about that experience, and compare American medicine (and cuisine!) with those countries she visited!
She is majoring in Biology & Psychology at UGA, while minoring in American Sign Language. She will tell us how all of that aligns with her career aspirations on the show today.

Lure of the Lake
Lake Oconee, Georgia, located halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, is a man-made paradise with incredible beauty that makes it a great vacation destination for people of all ages. More than that, though, it's a community for those that are looking for a peaceful life filled with nature and beauty.
I, myself, am a member of that community. I moved to Reynolds in 2020 and started to hear the incredible stories of its residents. Join me, now, as we take a plunge into some fascinating stories of the many well-lived lives of our community and learn why they were Lured to the Lake.
