Welcome to today's show! My guest today is my friend Matt Poyner, who serves as Executive Director of Putnam Development Authority. I’m sure some of you don’t know exactly what that is, or what they do. The Authority is a critical component to the success of our area as they assist companies to move, expand and locate here. Those businesses bring jobs and tax revenue that allows us to continue the rapid growth we have experienced the last several years. Matt will pull back the curtain and give us a glimpse into how all that works!
He’ll tell us how, despite the fact that he didn’t start out with this career in mind, he found it was the perfect fit for him. It has taken him to various counties in Georgia, but Putnam is exactly what he was looking for and now, he and his family are here, enjoying life at the lake! And that makes it easy for him to position our area as one of the best destinations for a very high quality of life component!

Matt has done a great job positioning Putnam County as a great destination for companies to locate here.
