But today we are dishing out some of the realities about the Australian Partner Visa process, so that you can understand what you must overcome outside of the legal criteria and required forms in order to get your Australian Partner Visa approved. 

Getting Your Ducks In A Row

What do ducks have to do with your Australian Partner Visa? When we say this, what we mean is getting organised as far in advance in your relationship timeline as possible. 

There are two moments in time that your Australian Partner Visa Application is going to be assessed on - Time of Application (ToA) and Time of Decision (ToD). 

With current processing times ToD is unlikely to be an issue, as during this period a couple will naturally strengthen their facts and their evidence as they have been together for a longer period of time. Where couples CAN run into problems is ToA. As soon as your application is submitted, it’s time stamped and that is your ToA, and when the Case Officer does eventually pick up your application, they will go back in time and look at what relationship evidence you had in place at that ToA. This is why it is most important to start gathering your relationship evidence as early in your relationship timeline as you can.
