It's one thing to pray a prayer asking God to forgive you of your sins.
It's a completely different thing to repent of those sins.
Repent is to turn away. To walk in the opposite direction of.
The only way we can be in true relationship with God is to ask for forgiveness of our sins AND to repent from them!
With the help of the Holy Spirit of God we can walk "washed" in the Blood of Jesus, and walk in a new direction!
