Her books draw on literature, psychology, law and anthropology as she analyzes culture and society. Her sixth book, The Bullied Brain: Heal Your Scars and Restore Your Health turns to neuroscience in order to rethink how abuse shapes our world and learn new ways to recover from it grounded in science (forthcoming with Prometheus Books March 8, 2022).
