🎙️ Welcome back to Part 2 of our series on Anger on the Soul-u-tions Podcast!
Anger is a powerful, completely normal emotion—and it's actually a great tool to help us set boundaries. But just like the food we eat, our anger needs to be properly metabolized so it doesn't build up and turn into explosive rage or deep resentment.
In this episode, we are getting entirely practical. If you've ever found yourself ruminating over a conflict or stuck at a "10" on the anger scale, this episode is for you. I'm walking you through 3 actionable tools to help you process your anger and bring yourself back to a healthy, balanced state.
In this episode, you'll discover:
- Why we need to "metabolize" our emotions, and why aiming for a "0" on the anger scale isn't actually healthy.
- Tool #1: The Meta Prayer (Loving Kindness). A beautifully structured practice to build momentum in extending grace—starting with yourself, and eventually reaching the person who challenged you.
- Tool #2: The 25-5-3 Tool. A powerful exercise to shift you out of problem-level thinking and into solution-level thinking by identifying what did work in a conflict, what didn't, and what you'd do differently next time.
- Tool #3: The "Judge Your Neighbor" Worksheet. A highly effective way to get your mental trash out on paper (so you can throw it away!) using a brilliant framework from Byron Katie.
