Oftentimes a veteran with disabilities such as wheelchair bound, loss of limb, blindness or severe burns may require modifications to their home or to temporary housing. This is where the VA can step in to help with the changes needed.

In this episode of Straight to the Point, Tyler and Paul talk about three different grants available through the VA. First the  Specially Adapted Housing grant (SAH)  which helps with larger modifications such as moving walls or modifying counters and other major changes. Second is the Special Home Adaptation (SHA) grant which helps with technical changes such as flashing fire alarms and the third is the Temporary Residence Adaptation (TRA) grant which helps to make modifications to a temporary home such as if a veteran had to stay at a family members until he/she is moved to a more permanent residence.

Tune in to learn more details on these grants and other areas of assistance for special vehicle adaptation that may be driven by physical and medical limitations.
