In this discussion, we discuss the impact of technology on the legal profession and the consumer experience with Jennie Pakula and she shares her views on the fundamental obligations of lawyers.

The discussion naturally covers some of the benefits of technology, such as increased efficiency and accessibility to legal services. However, Jennie raises concerns about concerns about how best to ensure compliance with the requirements of the LPUL. How can lawyers ensure they are effectively using technology for the benefit of their clients? How can they address the potential information asymmetry and moral hazards associated with technology?

One interesting point raised is the importance of providing value to clients . We talk about the ways that we can better explain their services to consumers and manage their expectations? This raises ethical considerations regarding client communication and the duty to provide competent and diligent representation.

Additionally, Jennie examines the impact of generative AI on the legal industry. How does this technology affect the lawyer-client relationship and the traditional role of lawyers? What ethical considerations arise when utilizing generative AI in legal services? Overall, this discussion highlights the need for law students to critically analyze the ethical implications of technology in the legal profession. Consider the ethical obligations, professional rules, and potential benefits and challenges that arise when integrating technology into legal practice.
