Brett Eaton is a high-performance coach who helps entrepreneurs and business owners become the best versions of themselves. On this episode of the Elite Recruiter Podcast, Brett shares his journey to becoming a life coach and how he helps high performers reach their goals. He began his career in the fitness industry and eventually branched out to coaching people in the other 23 hours of their life. Brett works with clients to ensure they are able to grow and create a life that is fulfilling and successful. He believes that in order to have a successful 2023, individuals must have a plan to become the best versions of themselves.

Brett begins by discussing how to set oneself up for a successful year in 2023. He suggests having an acronym, which stands for Have a Goal or Target, in order to focus on a specific goal or target. This way, one can work on specific habits throughout the year that will significantly improve their life. He further suggests that people should have a clear understanding as to why they are trying to achieve the goal or target. This can be applied to all aspects of life including career, business, and family. Having an understanding of why one is trying to achieve their goal is essential in order to stay motivated and focused, and will ultimately lead to a successful year.

The conversation is about how to use the acronym HOPE to set and achieve goals and live a more organized, productive and successful life. HOPE stands for having a goal or target, organizing one's life, prioritizing one's time, and executing properly. It is necessary to ask oneself what one wants out of life and who one wants to become at the end of the year, and to make sure that one's goals are helping them become that person. It is important to prioritize the four or five most important things in life and to make sure one's schedule reflects those priorities. Lastly, execution is key, and it becomes easier when one has a plan and is executing in the right places.

The speaker suggests that having fewer goals is more beneficial than having many goals. It's like juggling; if you try to juggle many balls all at once, you may end up dropping the first few balls. They suggest setting one or two goals each month, which will result in having 12 to 24 goals over the course of the year. It's also important to consider why you want to achieve the goal and to be prepared for the work and effort it will require. Ultimately, having fewer goals and being mindful of why you want to achieve them will help you stay focused and motivated.
