Azi Yankovic is simply remarkable. A San Diego/Los Angeles skater girl...who heard messages like “Azi, you’re gorgeous! Azi, you’re so intelligent!”
We all have fallen in that trap, where society tells us who our best selves are. And we ignore it.
And Azi candidly talks about internalizing that so much that it turned into pressure to live up to certain standards. She got pulled into to the “Go go go! Do do do!” culture, which led to feeling alone and being diagnosed with depression at 15 years old.
Azi is brutally honest about her story of elevation and ups, downs, and all-around of mental health. Her story is beautiful, a must-hear, for anyone so stuck in the deficits that they can’t see the assets. And she’s my confidant to talk about mental health dips and spikes.
