Ep #47: How to remove bulk Url's from Google Webmaster Tool!

  Before we get in the details, here's the link for quick recap on our previous podcast episode related to SEO:    So, are you ready to learn how to remove bulk URL's from your Google Webmaster tool?   Great! Here is the first step on how to remove bulk URL's:   Once you login to your Google webmaster account, click on crawl error. After that click on tab not found, and that's where you find all your 404 links! For those of you who are wondering what this means, remember, those pages when you enter wrong url, and it goes to 404 error...   That's exactly what this is. These pages do not exist and it is negative as far as google SEO is concerned. And to solve this, you need to first understand what could have gone wrong or caused this in the first place.   In general, there are 2 things that could have happened:    1) You actually had that url earlier but later changed your site structure and design and missed doing a 301 re-direct for those URL's. You see, if you change your URL or site structure in general, it's very important to do a 301 re-direct so that the URL's don't lead your user to a 404 page not found error.   And once you have redirected all your links, mark it as fixed!     2) In this scenario, it is possible that your site got hacked and its a malware issue. So, here's what you need to do. In such cases, Google webmaster bulk url remover can be used to remove Bulk Url's.   The first step is to download the zip file from the first link, then unzip the file. Next, you need to go to chrome and select the extension "developer mode" and click on load unpacked extension.   Now, select the unzipped folder and you will immediately see the bulk remover. And for the final step, you need to go Google webmaster and simply upload a file with the links of all the Url's that you would like to remove in csv formant.    So, these are the 2 easy step by step guidelines to remove all the negative and bulk url's from your website. Although is sounds like a technical subject, it's a great skill to know how to manage and clean your website if it gets hacked or is attacked by malware.   And hence, this technical episode is highly important because it can have a great impact on improving your SEO.
