Rick Hansen: Superhuman in Motion?

Rick Hansen is seemingly superhuman. After all, how many ordinary humans do you know who could propel themselves 40,000 km through 34 countries over 26 months - in a wheelchair?  And yet, Rick shows up in this conversation as so real and grounded.

He is a true renaissance man - a profoundly effective change-agent, and also a sensitive soul who brings light and love into every room he enters.  Rick has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for spinal cord research, but he’s also done so much to help others see the ability in people rather than their disabilities. These days, he’s focused on creating a world where “everyone can go everywhere.”

Three decades after his Man in Motion tour, I catch up with my old friend for a heart-to-heart discussion that ranges from what he’s accomplished since, to the joys and sorrows that have come with being a father and grandfather.  Enjoy!
