E83: Mike Rapley - Some things have changed in 58 years (Part 2)

We are continuing our chat with Mike Rapley on this episode. Mike has been a servant of our sport even before he was a rider; observing trials as a young lad before making the progression to his first trial in 1963. Since then, Mike has always been on either two or three wheels.

In Part 1 we discussed Mike's background where he's been a long time servant of his club helping run local & national events; He's spent years as a journalist, most notably working for Trials & Motocross News in the UK which afforded him the opportunity to be regularly working in the sport he was most passionate about. He spent some time riding Sidecars and Enduros but he has come back to the sport of trials and is still regularly competing to this day.

In part two we go on to discuss some of Mike's thoughts on the changes in our sport over the 58 years he's been involved. We discuss the current state of grass-roots trials vs the top flight of our sport at Trial GP. We also discuss the changes modern machines has delivered and although and if they are helping your everyday rider with the basics and throttle control?

This part of our catchup was much more of a conversation than an interview which was really refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Mike and I hope you do as well.

I give you Part 2 of my chat with Rapers!
