Going IRL
A podcast exploring social issues in online and gaming communities, hosted by Lex & Manny

For as long as Lex has been conscious, she has loved to game. Her first video game was Baldur’s Gate I with her parents when she was 6, and she started playing World of Warcraft when she was 11. While her early adventures in Azeroth may not have been the most rigorous (her sister’s accusations that Lex would frequently pull high-level mobs by accident and then flee, allowing her companions to be unceremoniously murdered, have never been proven) she fell in love with the beauty and the magic of the pixelated world. She has dabbled in everything World of Warcraft has to offer- if you can count running random BGs as “dabbling in PVP”- but has spent most of her time in role-play and AOTC raiding. She started podcasting in 2021 with the brief-but-glorious show Big Love Rocket, and is always excited to combine her two biggest interests: video games and talking.

Growing up with video games since the days of 8-bit platformers, I have always been tremendously fond of RPGs; one could easily think the vast world of Azeroth would seem like an easy fit. Not at all, I first stayed clear of WoW in fear that it would suck up too much of my time!
18 years, 9 expansions, and countless friendships later; I realize how ironically right I was. Now I share my experiences as a co-host of “For Azeroth” and “Going IRL” podcasts.
