PJ, one of our terrific dachshunds in the home and studio, recently passed away after suffering a debilitating spinal injury, and then undergoing several hours of surgery.
Healthy as a clam on a Thursday, feeling poorly on a Friday, and in the neurosurgeon's office on a Saturday, PJ was a tremendously friendly dog, followed the rules, loved to go for car rides, throughly enjoyed his milk bones, and was a great companion for all. He is already sorely missed by everybody.
As we go through life with our pets, it is important for non pet owners to know that "Pets Are People, Too", in that they became important members of the household, as well as becoming our friends and loved ones.
If you know of a pet owner who has lost a pet, be compassionate. Losing a pet can be as devastating as losing one of your own children.
PJ will be missed.
