Everyone is talking about how we should create more content. Write more blog posts, write more LinkedIn articles, start a podcast, do more video on social. But when we actually start creating this content it seems to be hugely time consuming for very little return on our efforts.

In this episode, A. Lee Judge and Alastair McDermott discuss the compound effect of creating content over time, and creating a body of work that builds your authority and personal brand.

They also discuss why and how you should capture your content in a way that you're comfortable with, how to get more from your content, and how to automate in a personal way.

“Content is a way to be ever present. Create good content and schedule it to go out over time. Then even while you're sleeping, you're meeting with clients. Your content's out there working when you're not.” -- A. Lee Judge

“You're competing with people who are not afraid to use a camera, they're not afraid to publish what they think. That's what you're competing with and it's your choice. You can choose not to compete, but the fact is that your competitors are out there and they're being seen.” -- A. Lee Judge

Podcast Host & Marketing Consultant

I created the The Recognized Authority podcast to help independent consultants and experts to get more clients without being dependent on referrals.

I'm a former software engineer who has converted to "The Dark Side" becoming a business and marketing consultant. I built my first website on GeoCities in the before-time of 1996, and I've been hooked on websites ever since.

I left a safe corporate job in early 2007 to start and grow my digital marketing business during the worst recession in modern history - that was a wild ride!

Along the way I co-founded several start-ups, some of which were mildly successful, and I wrote a book called "Running a Website with WordPress: A Quick Guide for Business Owners".
