On this edition of Next on the Tee I'm joined by Actor turned Talking Golf Getaway Host Mitch Laurance, Golf Tips Magazine Top 25 Instructor Tom Patri and GolfTec Co-Founder & CEO Joe Assell.
Mitch Laurance shared stories from his recent visit to play newly redesigned Pinehurst #4 plus he got in a round on famed #2 as well. I also got Mitch's thoughts on "The Match" between Tiger and Phil, where he felt the most pressure: playing in a celebrity golf tournament, doing live theater or providing clues to a contestant in the bonus round of $25,000 Pyramid? Mitch also talked about meeting and getting to know one of his idols Willie McCovey and getting invited to play in his charity golf tournament.
Tom Patri talked about the importance for all of us to get properly fit for our golf clubs; it isn't just for better players. He also shared tips for how to continue to play good golf after 50, 60, or 70 and the Links to Freedom program he's doing for our Military personnel and Veterans.
Joe Assell shared the story of where the idea for GolfTec came from and how he and his business partner got it off the ground. Today they are the largest employer of PGA Professionals and conduct over a million lessons worldwide. Joe also talked about how you can come in and their Instructors can start to fix swing flaws after seeing only 2 swings. Their lessons are all video taped and available online so you can access and review them anytime from any device.

Meet the Host
I have a passion for game that started when I was 12 years old playing golf in the evenings with my father. I took lessons from a gentleman named Ken Friend at Tides Golf Club in Seminole, Florida and I have loved the game ever since. I grew up idolizing Jack Nicklaus. The '75 & '86 Masters remain two of my favorite sports memories.
Augusta National is my favorite place on the planet. Attending The Masters tournament is one of the highlights of every year since 2001. I cherish walking those hallowed grounds. It gives me a feeling of wonder and excitement that has become a part of me and I never want it to leave.
I was born in Pittsburgh and the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates are in my DNA. I also lived outside of Boston for several years and spending time at Fenway Park and the Boston Garden, infused my soul with the Red Sox and Celtics.
Tranquil late afternoon rounds of golf with my father and son some of my happiest moments. My annual golf trip with my buddies is always another highlight of the golf year. I also enjoy going to our local PGA Tour SuperStore and testing out new equipment with my son; it's one of our favorite things to do together.
