I’m Stacey—Founder & CEO of Lawfecta, former paralegal, and your no-BS host of the Power Paralegals Podcast.
I spent years grinding inside small family law and consumer-facing firms, where “virtual” only applied to the attorneys, and support staff like me were still stuck in traffic, in tears, or both. I was logging 65 active cases, barely trained, getting blamed for attorney mistakes, and burning out hard before I even knew what burnout was.
And I stayed. Because that’s what we’re taught—especially if you grew up in chaos like I did. Raised in an abusive household, I didn’t know what healthy boundaries looked like. Abuse felt familiar, even when it wore a suit and billed $500 an hour.
But I hit my breaking point. I lost the grandfather who raised me in 2016—and that grief? It flipped a switch. Within months, I launched Lawfecta to redesign how legal talent works, create real support for paralegals, and challenge the old-school firm model that was chewing us up and spitting us out.
I started with a spreadsheet and 6,000 cold emails to attorneys. No ad spend. No funding. Just grit, a laptop, and an audacious belief that we could flip the hierarchy.
Now, through this podcast, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned—not just about legal systems, but the toxic systems inside the industry that nobody warns you about. We talk about the abuse, the burnout, the politics, the gaslighting—and how to survive it, navigate it, and ultimately, leave it behind.
This show isn’t just for paralegals. It’s for anyone in legal support who’s ever felt invisible, dismissed, or stuck.
