Stories Matter: How Leaders Use Storytelling to Build Values-Driven Cultures

What if the most powerful leadership tool isn’t strategy—but story?

On Stories Matter, hosts Gayle Turner and Shelli Jost Brady explore how leaders use storytelling to shape behavior, instill values, and build strong, values-driven cultures.

Leadership comes down to three essential actions:

  • Initiating change
  • Sustaining change
  • Growing leaders

While change can be managed through systems and processes, growing leaders requires something deeper—the intentional development of values.

And values are not taught. They are modeled and reinforced through story.

Each episode features accomplished leaders sharing real stories they’ve used to:

  • Communicate clear direction
  • Model values in action
  • Influence behavior and decision-making

Grounded in the neuroscience of how humans learn and adopt behavior, this podcast reveals why storytelling is one of the most effective tools for leadership communication and cultural transformation.

If you are a leader who wants to:

  • Strengthen your leadership communication
  • Build a values-driven culture
  • Grow leaders within your organization

This podcast will give you the insight—and the stories—to do it.
