Frank and Jacque discuss a customer that could not get rid of mustard algae no matter how much chemicals he used. Chemistry is the one of the 5 basics that he had right.

You must fix the cause of the problems in a pool, not just treat the symptoms of the problem. Frank goes step by step on all the things this pool owner had working against him.

04:01 - why is pool water in north texas getting so warm. Higher humidity slows evaporation. evaporation cools the water.

05:50 - retail customer is treating his pool for algae, but it keeps coming back. his water chemistry is the only part of the 5 basics he was doing right.

10:10 - as pool water ages it becomes more difficult to control.

14:25 - weir doors make skimmers work like they are designed to work

15:26 - set pool returns to properly circulate the pool

17:10 - spas do not need more return than necessary. do not starve your pool of circulation to over serve the spa

18:28 - set up spa to circulate well. circulate the footwell of the spa

20:00 - easy way to remove dirt from spa

21:50 - brushing your pool is critical

23:05 - empty pump and skimmer baskets

23:15 - save money and circulate more water by taking advantage of variable speed pumps

24:00 - don't run you booster pumps for pool cleaners more than necessary

25: 02 - monitor filter pressure, and clean your filter as needed, know your clean pressure

Frank and Jacque Disher live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Frank started his swimming pool business way back in the 20th century. 5 years ago he and Jacque decided to join up with a national franchise group, Poolwerx. Frank has over 25 years experience in pool service and repair, new construction, renovation, leak detection, and retail. Jacque has her masters degree in theatre, and has worked behind the scenes in the pool business to keep it running smooth. Their chemistry is awesome and she is the perfect host to keep Frank in line.
