Frank and Jacque discuss how to cool your pool down in the summer and overcome some of the difficulties pool service techs and pool owners deal with due to the heat and swim season.

07:00 - how to chill your pool. Heat pumps. running heat pumps at night makes them much more effective in chilling the pool, but you must also run your filter and circulation during the heat of the day. Pros and con of an electric heat pump

12:38- evaporative chillers, Glacier. use evaporation to chill water. Pros and cons of an evaporative chiller.

16:30- other ways to chill your pool. water falls and water features during cooler night temperatures will cool your pool. It will also affect your water chemistry.

19:00- heat related issues during the summer season. hotter weather and more sun does require more sanitizer. algae is more active, there are more contaminants being introduced into the water, check your free and total chlorine. supplement chlorine with shock if needed. maintain proper chlorine residuals.

23:20- tab pools you need to watch stabilizer or cya levels. cya will rise during summer with more tab use. adjust chlorine residual as needed to maintain 7.5% or 5% in free chlorine of your stabilizer level.

26:10- salt pools. increase production time for salt water chlorine generators to keep up. increase production percentage.

28:40- benefits of a variable speed pump. make the switch

29:00- watch your filter pressure, keep filter clean and backwashed, keep skimmer and pump baskets clean.

30:20- make sure pool is circulating well. eliminate dead spots.

30:54- borates, enzymes, phosphate removers.

Frank and Jacque Disher live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Frank started his swimming pool business way back in the 20th century. 5 years ago he and Jacque decided to join up with a national franchise group, Poolwerx. Frank has over 25 years experience in pool service and repair, new construction, renovation, leak detection, and retail. Jacque has her masters degree in theatre, and has worked behind the scenes in the pool business to keep it running smooth. Their chemistry is awesome and she is the perfect host to keep Frank in line.
