Jim Mayer is a renowned bass player who has been touring, writing, and recording in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band since 1989. He has performed live with James Taylor, Ringo Starr, Don Henley, and Joni Mitchell, and, in addition to Jimmy Buffett, has recorded with Little Feat, JD Souther, and Mac McAnally. Mayer is a children’s advocate, songwriter, and author.
He has had two Number 1 hits on Sirius/XM Kids radio, won multiple awards for children’s songwriting, and has presented his IM4U Teaching Program at national educational conferences. Mayer has performed live shows and presented workshops for children and educators in the US and Europe.
As a public speaker, he has co-presented a panel discussion and workshop at the Harvard University Museum Studies Department on art and play as agents to transform communities. He is based in Boston, MA (USA).
