Ny, also known as Nyesha McKinney, is a powerful advocate for the community. Growing up in the inner city of Rochester, New York, which unfortunately holds the title of the state's murder capital, she witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by those in low socioeconomic communities affected by mass incarceration. This ignited her passion to pursue a career in law and she obtained a comprehensive educational background in Criminal Justice, African American, and Urban Studies. Currently, Ny works as an investigator and dedicates her time to being a youth advocate for children and families in need.

Ny's vision for Urban Counsel initially aimed to educate people about their legal rights. However, she has expanded the platform to facilitate important conversations that the black and brown communities desperately need. Additionally, she strives to find ways to improve the conditions of our origins. This platform also serves as a safe space for individuals with genuine experiences to share their truths without fear of judgment.
