After developing an injury after playing rugby at university, Marcus was prescribed a high-dose of Omega 3 fish capsules to reduce inflammation around his joints. However, he found them hard to swallow and they would always give him "fishy burps".
As a result, Marcus sought out to find Omega 3 supplements that actually tasted good, but there's nothing that existed like that yet. So, the pair decided to create an Omega 3 supplement that actually tasted pleasant and was enjoyable to take, and first iteration of Zooki was born.
After two years working with food scientists to create a product called "Omega Water", Marcus & Jack launched into the health food retail chain Holland & Barrett, but the product failed because at £3 a bottle it was too expensive and people thought it would taste of fish oil.
So it was back to the drawing board. And after creating a higher concentration Omega 3 smoothie that could be mixed with protein shakes, they started selling it under a private label to large supplement brands. This blew up and they started selling thousands of bottles.
This led them to start their own brand, YourZooki, in 2017, and take full control of the product. "We now sell eight products under our own brand, and counting!"
