Illuminating Creativity and Process, with Fred Poisson

We had studios across the hall from one another a decade ago. He a fine art painter; I a photographer.

What began as casual conversations in the hallway, soon turned into treasured 3 hour long breakfasts over lousy coffee to talk about all things art related.

Creative process, the way light moves, nuances in color and form and the art of noticing were all themes we would happily dive into and swim around in until the demands of real life would call us back to shore.

Longtime friend and uber talented fine art painter, Fred Poisson joins me today from his car in Brooklyn to share one of our infamous convos about creativity live for your listening pleasure.

Learn some unexpected benefits of creativity like how to use it as a powerful problem solving tool or as a new lens to see a fresh perspective and how to be kind to yourself as you experiment, risk and explore.

Here are some other things you’ll discover in this episode:

  • The power of seeing oneself as an artist.
  • How to stay curious, stay in the creative arena and keep going.
  • The importance of reframing failure over and over again into learning not losing.
  • Using creativity to approach your own creative process and build momentum.
  • How to evolve as an artist.
  • and so more…

Enjoy!
